The Referee Training Clinics have been designed to provide a uniform and consistent basic education as the foundation of future referee training and development. As such a significant part of the process is not only introducing new referees into the PSP system but also confirming that current PSP referees share the same foundation. That all our referees share a consistent understanding of officiating competitive paintball. The PSP would also like to welcome back past referees who would like to get back into the game as a PSP qualified official.
Each clinic will feature an extensive classroom type session followed by a practical application session devoted to on-field activities. For new enrollees there will be a $50 fee that will be refunded at the first PSP event refereed. Those who were referees at a PSP event in 2013 only need to register for the clinic of their choice. Part of the new program will be the introduction of a new merit-based daily pay rate that all PSP trained referees can participate in at PSP events. Demonstrations of knowledge, on-field expertise and accumulating experience will provide every referee with the opportunity to increase their pay, motivate their fellow referees and serve as a point of pride in a job well done.
The clinics list will be periodically updated as new clinic dates and locations are confirmed.
