Changes from 2011:

-        Events with fewer than 8 teams will have scores reduced by 5% for each team less than 8 teams.

-        The threshold for being bumped from D5 to D4 at the end of a season has been raised to 123.

-        The threshold for being promoted to D5 at the end of a season has been lowered to 20 and during a season to 75.

-        There are no longer separate classification ratings for 4-man, 3-man and 2-man events.  All events are now included in your single classification rating, however, 4-man events are worth 75% points, 3-man 50% points, and 2-man 25% points.

-        If you have less than 4 events, your best D4 or lower score is dropped completely instead of half or no scores being dropped.  If you have 4 events or more, your top score will be dropped regardless of division.

-        Event scores are now affected by the number of seasons since an event only, not the number of other events played since an event.

-        Players who have earned enough points to be promoted will be promoted regardless of which league the points were earned in.

-        Event scores of players older than 40 that are at least two seasons old will be reduced by 5% for each year of age over 40 up to 50 years old.  This replaces all players over 50 getting a 50% reduction in total points.

General Player Classification Rules:

Players receive a score for each event played on a scale from 10 to 100 based on the place their team finishes.  1st place earns 100 points, last place earns 10 points, and placing in the middle earns 55 points.  (Exception:  Pro scores are on a scale of 55 to 100)

Points are multiplied based on the division played, with the score doubling for each higher division.  Thus a D4 event counts double a D5 event, a D3 event counts double a D4 event and quadruple a D5 event, etc.  (Exception: Pro is worth double D1, and semi-pro is worth 1.5x D1.)

Older events are worth fewer points.  Events from 2009 are worth 70%, 2008 are worth 50%, 2007 are worth 35%, and 2006 and earlier 25%.

Promotion to a higher division can occur at any time, or at the end of a season.  The number of points needed to be promoted at the end of a season is lower than the number of points needed during a season.

To be promoted during a season, a player must play in a division higher than their current classification, AND must then have a point total greater than three 1st places in their current division.  (Example:  1st place in D3 is worth 400 points (quadruple the D5 1st place of 100), so a player would need more than 1200 points to get promoted do D2 during a season.  (Exception: When being promoted from D1, only players who have played 2 Pro events in the past two seasons will attain Pro status; other players will become Semi-Pro.)

To be promoted at the end of a season, a lower point total must be reached.  This point total is usually equal to three scores of 82 in the player’s current division, but is lower for being promoted to D5 and D4 (20 and 123 points, respectively.)

General Roster Rules:

A RaceTo-2 team may have up to one player from one class higher than the division the team is competing in.

A RaceTo-4/5/7 team may have up to two players from one class higher than the division the team is competing in.  Additionally, the top player on a roster may “borrow” points from the next highest player on the roster, allowing 1 player from two classes higher.  For example, a D2 player may have up to 1968 points.  If the 2nd highest player on a team has only 1700 points, the highest player on the team could be up to 268 points over 1968, or up to 2236 points.  However, no more than 50% of the 2nd highest player’s points may be borrowed, so for example, a D1 player with more than 2,952 points would not be permitted (1968 D2 limit + 984 (half of 1968) borrowed points.)

Teams fielding less than 5 players per point may not have any players of a higher class on their roster.
